The largest species of barracuda is the Great Barracuda and is the most encountered, but there are also many kind of barracuda all around the world ocean.

1.    There are around 27 species of barracuda that have been identified
They often be named after the region where they are found, like Guinea Barracuda, Mexican Barracuda, Japanese Barracuda and European Barracuda.
 

2.    The unusual look than other fish
It easy to recognize Barracuda because of their long, thin body with a slightly flat above the head and pointy jaw. 

3.    Barracudas inhabit tropic and subtropical waters
They are marine fish and mostly live near shore or sometimes you can find it in estuaries. They are inhabit the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans and most abundant in the Caribbean and Red Sea.

4.    They eat shining skinned fish
Barracuda hunt with their good vision, observing water for the sign of prey. Small fish is usually will have silvery skin that can look shiny when it reflects light, so the barracuda will be easy to spot them.

5.    The speed of barracuda is can reach 35 mph
This slim long fish is one of the most fast swimmer in the ocean and is capable to reach speed up to 35 mph. but this fish can maintain high speed for a long distances.

 

6.    Barracuda has a very sharp teeth
Barracudas have two rows of teeth: the outermost rows of small but sharp teeth to tear the flesh, and back rows is long teeth and daggers to firmly capture their prey. Some barracuda teeth point to the back, as an additional help to secure the prey.

 

7.    Barracuda is safe to consumes but still need to be cautious of the poisonous one
Barracuda is edible but you must pay attention to the size. The bigger size barracuda is have a bigger possibility of containing ciguatoxin. Until this day there still no way to identify the fish that contain this toxin. So it is best to avoiding eating the large species of Barracuda.
